Q. What are the tabbing/wafer sealing requirements for automation compatible letter size pieces?
A. The fold configuration (and if the mail piece is stitched) determines the number of tabs needed.
- Fold at the bottom with open top – single tab
- Fold at the top with open bottom – double tab
- Stitched Booklet – three tabs ( 2 on leading edge; one on trailing edge)
- Perforated tabs are not an acceptable closure method.

Q. What are my options for postage application on mail piece?
- Indicia – boxed format with preprinted copy identifying postage class, permit number and mailing post office.
- Meter – imprint indicating postage class and meter number
- Stamp – Postage stamp affixed to mailing piece

- Postcard
- Minimum – 3 ½ x 5 and .007 thick
- Maximum – 4 ¼ x 6 and .009 thick

Q. What is the maximum size you can run on your 6 x 9 inserters?
A. 9 ¾” x 7” with a maximum 2” flap
Q. What is the maximum size you can run on your 9 x 12 inserters?
A. 12 ¼” x 10” with a maximum 3” flap
Q. What is the maximum I.D. and O.D. you can take on rolls of labels for the Label – aire?
A. 3” I.D. for core and 16” O.D. for roll

A. 18.5 ” x 14.3”
